ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï Community,

Happy Latinx Heritage Month!

We are nearly a month into the new school year, and as we step into the fall season, we also welcome a time of celebration, reflection, and unity. Latinx Heritage Month is a moment that resonates deeply with the core values that define us¨Can opportunity to celebrate the beauty and diversity within our ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï community. It is a chance to unite, inspire, and recognize the remarkable contributions of those who identify with Latin American heritage and whose stories are a part of the fabric of America. I encourage you to go back and read this piece written by Chief College Officer Dr. Aid¨¦ Acosta, explaining why we use the language .

Last year, we began featuring voices from our community in these celebratory notes. Our anti-racism commitment calls for us to center the voices and experiences of our students, families and communities. I¡¯m thrilled to continue inviting more voices this year, and we begin with a piece written by Juan Pablo Esquivel, a learning specialist at Mansueto High School.

Please enjoy Juan¡¯s thoughts below, and be on the lookout on social media as we continue to celebrate Latinx Heritage Month.

With gratitude,
Constance
